Scheduling: repeat jobs, season tickets and handovers

The Scheduling part of the menu holds three tools that save your team time: Hazardous collections for hazardous jobs that repeat, Season tickets for regular non-hazardous transfers, and Handovers for passing a job to another carrier. Repeat jobs and season tickets are included from the Essentials plan; handovers need Pro or above.

Hazardous collections (repeat jobs)

A repeat job is for a hazardous collection that happens again and again, so you do not type it out each time. You build it from a job you have already done. Consigns then drafts the next consignment note for you when it is due.

To set one up, open Hazardous collections and choose New repeat job. Give it a name, pick a job to copy, and choose how often it repeats. Each time it is due, a fresh draft job appears on your jobs board, ready for you to check and confirm.

The page shows when each one next runs and lets you pause a repeat job and start it again later. One that is due is easy to spot, so nothing slips.

Season tickets

A season ticket is for regular non-hazardous collections where the customer, the carrier and the waste stay the same, like a weekly oily-rag bin from the same yard. The law lets you cover up to a year of those collections under one duty-of-care arrangement instead of a fresh transfer note each visit.

Open Season tickets and choose New season ticket. Pick a non-hazardous job to base it on and set the dates it covers, up to one year. Consigns produces the season-ticket note and keeps the schedule of every transfer made under it, so your records stand up on their own.

Hazardous waste cannot go on a season ticket. Each hazardous movement needs its own consignment note, which is what repeat jobs are for.

Handovers

Sometimes another carrier needs to take over a job, for example when you are covering for each other or the waste is being passed along. A handover lets you offer the job to them cleanly.

Open Handovers and create an offer. There are two ways to send it:

The page keeps incoming and outgoing offers separate, and shows which links are still waiting. A job can only be offered while it is in an early stage and is not already waiting for another carrier.
